LAUGHTER YOGA IS A SIMPLE, YET POWERFUL AND LIFE CHANGING ACTIVITY WHICH PROVIDES PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL BENEFITS SIMILAR TO TRADITIONAL YOGA. ACCORDING TO SANDRA AMRITA MCLANAHAN, MD –
LAUGHTER YOGA CAN HELP:
• IMPROVE CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH AND RESPIRATION.
• IMPROVE MOOD BY RELEASING SEROTONIN – THE FEEL GOOD CHEMICAL IN OUR BRAIN.
• INCREASE SELF-CONFIDENCE, ALERTNESS AND PRODUCTIVITY.
• STIMULATE PRODUCTION OF T-CELLS AND BOOSTS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM.
• DECREASE CORTISOL PRODUCTION–THE HORMONE OUR BODY PRODUCES IN RESPONSE TO STRESS.
LAUGHTER YOGA IS A METHOD TO HELP US RETURN TO OUR NATURAL STATE OF CHILDLIKE PLAYFULNESS, AND FEELING FILLED WITH JOY AND LAUGHTER. DURING EACH CLASS WE WILL LEARN AND PERFORM LAUGHTER YOGA PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES…AND JUST ABOUT EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE.
Please wear comfortable clothing, and bring a towel or mat to sit on. Sneakers are suggested.
